The Mane Event: Chrish & Co
CPR Ambassador Toowoomba, QLD
Recently, Chrish and Co. brought their team together to hold a photoshoot for their The Mane Event entry, collaborating with models and creatives to bring the day to life! We sat down with Chrish and Joel to find out about their experience and what tips other salons can take away from their day to hold their own photoshoot.
How did you conceptualise the shoot?
After recently working on set with CPR styling the models for the Uninterrupted campaign, we were inspired to do a similar style shoot. We had a vision in our head and wanted to bring this to life.
How did you source a team to collaborate with?
We are lucky to have a big personal network in Toowoomba, so we didn’t have to search hard for models, who were all friends and family. We originally conceptualised the photoshoot with one model, however in the planning stages decided on three so we could challenge ourselves and bring more looks to life!
It can seem like organising something like this may be an expensive process, but first reach out to your network as there can be models, photographers and creatives who are willing to collaborate with you in exchange for content to keep it low-cost!
You’re all prepped, now how did the day go?
We had an amazing day! The shoot location was a beautiful, oriental style property in Toowoomba which has so many incredible spots to shoot in. It really aligned to the feel of the day and the style of the models we were working with.
The atmosphere was alive and models just came to life once the camera started shooting! We had about a week of preparation while still running the salon in the lead up, so this meant a lot of late evenings but it was so worth it in the end!
What tips do you have for other salons who are thinking of entering the next Mane Event?
Try and get a clear vision of the style of shoot you are wanting to achieve. Conceptualise a look that showcases the stylists unique skills in a creative way. We found that using platforms like Pinterest and Instagram to be super useful to find inspiration. We created a moodboard to visually communicate with the team so that we all had the same vision.Step outside your comfort zone and try new things! The beauty of it is that you can be as creative as you like, you’re only limited by your imagination. Its fun creating looks that you wouldn’t usually do on clients in the salon.
Lastly, the most important tip we can give is to just have fun with it! It’s an exciting time to bring your team together and get out of the salon for a day to create some magic together.
