I made the change.
Change is often a whisper, not a roar—a decision that snowballs into transformation. For me, this past year has been nothing short of miraculous, both personally and professionally. I was diligent about making quarterly goals for work. This year, I extended that practice into my personal life. Quarterly goals transformed how I approached both spheres, helping me stay focused, motivated, and surpassing goals I once thought were out of reach.
Not only did I achieve professional milestones, but I also experienced major life changes. I had a brand-new bathroom built, successfully organised Salon Forum 2024, and then got married the following weekend! I welcomed a dog into my life, took a refreshing overseas holiday, and purchased a bigger home for my family. All of this while continuing to thrive and hit key professional milestones along the way. It’s been a year of transformation, growth, and incredible moments I’ll never forget.
When I first envisioned, I Made the Change, it wasn’t just about inspiring others; it was a commitment to myself. To say, “I choose this moment to take charge, to evolve.”
Personal Growth Through Structure
Becoming more organised and asking for help were game-changers. Professionally, streamlining operations and empowering my team allowed CPR Hair to scale new heights. Personally, it helped me balance career milestones with the joys of family life. When I took the time to create systems that worked for me, I realised the importance of sustainability—not just environmentally but also in how I manage time, energy, and relationships.
Transforming CPR Hair
At CPR Hair, we’ve turned values into action. Partnering with Stellar, Sustainable Salons, and Hair 3R’s wasn’t just a business decision; it was a step towards creating real impact.
With Stellar, we’ve added incredible value to our Salon community, making premium products more accessible. Our collaboration with Sustainable Salons has promoted eco-conscious practices, ensuring that we care for both people and the planet. And Hair 3R’s has allowed us to get behind the hugely important issue of domestic and family violence and educate our salon communities to recognise, respond and refer clients appropriately. For many, this can be lifesaving.
These partnerships reflect a broader philosophy —that success should uplift and empower everyone it touches.
Kindness as a Compass
One of the most profound shifts I’ve made is prioritising kindness. Every campaign, every project we take on at CPR Hair begins with the question: How can this uplift others? This focus has created a ripple effect. Kindness has become my compass, guiding both personal interactions and business decisions. It’s a simple yet transformative value that has redefined success for me.
Celebrating Progress
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned this year is to celebrate progress, not just outcomes or ahieving the ultimate finish line. Breaking my goals into quarterly chunks has allowed me to focus on what’s achievable in three months, whether it’s launching an educational campaign or reaching a personal finance milestone. This kept me motivated and inspired and pushed me forward. And, of course, I made sure to celebrate every little win - because every step forward deserves recognition!
Looking Ahead
The journey of change is always evolving, and that’s what I love most about it. At CPR Hair, we’ve introduced the success calendar as a reminder of the power behind small, consistent actions. It’s not just a tool; it’s a way to reflect, set goals, and take meaningful steps forward. My advice? Don’t wait. Choose kindness, choose community, and choose growth. Because every step, no matter how small, gets you closer to a more fulfilled, exciting version of yourself.
I made the change, and so can you.
